here
now
there is this silence
this
peaceful existence, that -
surrounds
everything here
outside
temperatures have dropped
people aren't walking
their dogs or
themselves
even the children aren't playing
way, way beyond
in the distance
I'll hear a bark or
the engine of a car
but the peace is here
there's no lover
no one to gaze at or
to even argue with
there are speakers
and flags
dressers and mirrors
pictures of the dead
pure serenity
and I think
this is how they must feel
in the grand joy of silence
the infinate lover that nabs
us all.
