A Grief Observed
To Ross
Inside you, there's a fire
that bites & bites
to the
tiny death
I'm there too
I can feel the burning
sear of the flame.
I want to kiss your
shoulders
and your legs
your fingertips
and your lips
If I could bottle you up
and drink a
bit of you each day
Still, eternity would not
hold enough
days
For my love to savor
the bittersweet
flavor
of your
eyes and soul
And your truth.
