The Ferret
The ferret is restless,
he circles the cage,
eyeing the cat with an amorous gaze
Tools of seduction
perfected in use
laced with adrenaline, cunning and ruse
He cases the quarry,
measuring her thirst,
when, in an instant
the cat pounces first.
