Insatiable Desire

Oh, my beautiful girl,
ye which thirsts for knowledge
and feasts on hate and love.

I know you all too well,
and I love and adore you.

You know love and hate, to both intense extremities.
You know madness and harmony,
and can fully appreciate their unique
and individually attractive aspects.
You know obsession and passion,
you know poison and vulgarity.

You comprehend the full spectrum,
acknowledge every aspect, every facet.
You have wisdom that you are unaware of.
You 'understand'.

Such a quiet and melancholy beauty,
with great tumultuous outbursts
of thought and emotion.

I can see it in your eyes,
sense it emanate from your slender frame.
Neither hunger nor thirst nor lust,
but some other indiscernible, and insatiable desire?

You want the world, my love.
You are all-consuming and ever-expanding.
You demand strength, loyalty,
riches, passion, and intellect.
You demand all.

Dare I accept the challenge?
Dare I embark on the quest to attempt
to fulfill your endless cravings?

Do I dare to satisfy the insatiable?
Do I dare to accomplish the impossible?
To delve into that great blackness
that is the human mind?
....or perhaps, the human heart?

Do I dare to love,
amidst pain and agony,
slaughter and strife?
Do I dare to love,
despite sanctions
and [a]morally-influenced legalities?

Do I dare?
Do I dare?
Do I dare?

Fear engulfs me at every intersection.
Failure would be a disappointment for you;
and an unrecoverable, fatal blow to myself.

But what can separate two essences,
that are now so intricately intertwined?
Nothing. We have passed the Rubicon,
and we proceed not as two individuals,
but one singular and infallible being.
With you at my side, I am vigilant,
and I march on with full resolve.

I dare.
