A Carolina Princess

Dancing like a kitten
Chasing balloons and butterflies
This tiny fragile princess
Such a beauty to my eyes

Hair windblown and fancy free
Running fast from place to place
Angelic smile upon her lips
Mischievous grin upon her face

Such a child so filled with joy
Yet woman still so caught in love
Within a meadow as we lay
Our bodies close as hand in glove

A sundae shared that summer’s day
Beneath the Carolina sun
And teacups full of treasures sweet
Of secrets shared and gifts of fun

A day too soon brought to a close
As summers sun went on the wane
And from my gaze you disappear
The tears they fell like summer rain

Apart we are and closer still
Each living in our far off land
My princess you are in my heart
A part of Cyberneverland
