Adrift
A maiden's song thrust through his heart,
Piercing deep, and burning hot.
Its touch a quick enchanting kiss,
His heart, aquiver from its shot.
Caressed by words like tongues of flame,
Yet still, he would not run away.
Hidden thoughts, deep dark desires,
A foolish heart, caused him to stay.
Consumed in song's sweet bitter touch,
Just ashes left, for all to see.
Now heartless he shall wander far,
Adrift, in painless agony...
